The Ortofon MCA-76 is specially designed for use together with cartridges of the moving coil type.
The amplifier circuit is designed to have an absolute minimum of noise output, just 5dB above the theoretical noise limit.
The distortion figures are down to a minimum.
A built in subsonic filter attenuates sound below 13Hz as these signals below the audible range can lead to speaker damage.
A switchable filter is employed in order to change the frequency response to two-channel or four-channel CD-4 mode.
A switch makes it possible to by-pass the MCA-76 amplifier section when using moving magnet cartridges.
