Tecsound je teška inertna vinilna masa koja je učinkovitija od punog olova kada se radi o zaustavljanju prolaza zvuka (transmisija). Ugrađena u zidove, stropove ili pod, ponaša se kao tanka, gusta prepreka, a najučinkovitija je kao dio višeslojne izolacije sastavljene od raznih materijala, poput gipsanih ploča, mineralne vune, vlaknatica itd.

Tecsound 50 acoustic membrane has tremendous density and mass, whilst being extremely pliable. It is a superb alternative to MLV where more flexibility is required.

The impressive acoustic performance of Tecsound is equivalent to lead of the same surface weight. Tecsound 50 in a single layer boasts an Rw figure of over 25db.

When directly applied to a vibrating and resonating metal surface such as a vehicle floor pan or bulk head, it greatly reduces vibration and the passage of sound through the surface. Tecsound 50 is also an ideal product for soundproofing engine bays, engine rooms and reducing sound from noisy equipment enclosures.

STC Data Table

STC (Sound Transmission Class), is a numerical rating of how effective a material is at blocking the transmission of sound through itself. This rating generally applies to hard materials like rubberized sound barriers, concrete, brick and drywall but also applies to a much lesser degree to softer materials like mineral fiber (although it isn't tested by itself; it's tested as part of a wall system to verify its effectiveness). Virtually every material filters out some of the sound that travels through it, but dense materials are much better at this than are spongy materials.

INSTALLATION

Texsa Tecsound lends itself to all types of normal building substrates (gypsum board, metal, DM, plastics). The substrate must be even, smooth, clean and dry. It must also be free from elements that could damage the membrane. If the construction is old, its condition must be checked to avoid adherence problems of the Texsa Tecsound to surface.


Installation of the membrane: Prior to installing the membrane, an adhesive must be applied to both substrate and membrane, and left to dry according to the instructions of the adhesive manufacturer before bonding the two surfaces. Pressure must be exerted on all the points to ensure correct adhesion. It can also be installed mechanically. The number of fixings will depend on the product, the support and the system where the membrane will be applied. Mechanical fixings must be chosen which will not tear the membrane and which will insure a good air seal to maximize the soundproofing performance. Use of silicone over the fastener is recommended.


Installation of the membrane on metal decks: Extend the roll over the substrate progressively, trying to keep the fleece on the upper side so it protects the membrane. The membrane must be applied in such a way that the length of the roll is perpendicular to the direction of the deck profile. The membrane must be made to follow the profile of the metal support at all times, ensuring that there is no formation of air pockets. The thermal insulation boards are then installed and mechanically fastened.


Overlaps: Overlap 5 cm both vertically and horizontally. Care must be taken to always seal the overlaps correctly, as small openings can reduce the level of acoustic insulation achieved.

Yield: 1m² of membrane covers approximately 0.90 m² of surface area, including overlaps.

Tecsound 50 Slim wall Soundproofing - How it works

Where customers have almost no space available for soundproofing we have introduced a new, very slim line solution. We would always recomend the SM20 solution for those who can afford the space. This lack of space is often associated with hallways or where doors / windows are very close to the wall to be soundproofed.

2 Methods are possible:

The first uses two layers of Tecsound and two plasterboards. The Tecsound is stuck to the party wall and a layer of plasterboard screwed to that wall, this is lined with a 2nd layer of Tecsound. A second plasterboard is then added to this. Creating the set up shown above.

DRUGO RJEŠENJE (debljina zida dodatnih samo 19mm):

By combining a single layer of 15mm plasterboard with two layers of our high performance tecsound acoustic membrane we believe we have created a cost effective and slim line solution.The solution is relatively simple to install with a layer of self adhesive Tecsound being stuck to the existing wall and a second layer being added to a layer of acoustic plasterboard. The Plasterboard is presented to the tecsound lined wall and then screwed through to the original wall.

This is a brand new and as yet un-lab tested solution. So we can only go on the feed back of clients, in a domestic environment. Please see the Customer review tab at the top of the page. On the basis of their comments we feel the product is up rating the wall by at least 12/14 db.

The combination of two layers of dense visco-elastic tecsound membrane and the weight of the plasterboard acts as an effective solution for blocking sound across the party wall with absolutely minimal space loss. Where possible adding further mass in the form of another plasterboard layer will enhance this solution.
