The Jobo Digital Giga Vu PRO is a feature-rich portable hard drive and image storage device, viewer and digital media player. Features like the 4-inch color LCD monitor with 320 x 240 pixel resolution, CompactFlash Type II memory card slot, 2200mAh Li-ion rechargeable battery, USB 2.0 high speed interface and 40 GB hard drive make it ideal for professional digital photographers.
The Giga Vu PRO is compatible with Canon, Kodak and Nikon RAW files as well as JPEG image files. It can decode a 6-Megapixel JPEG image in about one second for almost instantaneous display. Zoom up to 400% for JPEG and RAW images and display the color channel data (RGB and B&W), histogram and Exif data for your images. The Dust Detector view mode will help you find dirt on your imager. You can copy select images from your digital camera’s flash memory card or transfer all images.

The Giga Vu PRO is also an MP3 player that lets you listen to your favorite tunes over headphones or through the built-in speaker. Watch MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4, DIVX 3 and DIVX 4/5 encoded movies on the unit’s LCD while you’re on the go, or hook it up to a TV using the included AV cable to watch the movie files you’ve stored. Controls for play, stop, fast forward, rewind and volume make it easy to navigate. The Giga Vu PRO can also be used as portable hard drive to transfer data between computers.

Digital photographers either have to tote around a laptop to the job, or wait until they get back to their computer to upload and manage photos. JOBO says no more to this inconvenience, with their development of the Giga Vu Pro. Essentially a hard drive with a screen, the Giga Vu Pro can playback most video, audio, and image formats, all while adding a few features for the digital photographer such as WiFi and Pictbridge compatibility.

With a plentiful 40 or 60GB configuration,
the Giga Vu Pro promises to playback all of the common video (MPEG
1, 2, 4; DIVX 3, 4, 5), audio (MP3 only) and image formats, including
many RAW file formats for detailed image information. In addition,
the Giga Vu Pro carries features that you’d expect from such a media
playback product, like USB 2.0 file transfer (which transferred at
a very healthy 1 megabyte/second+ in my estimation), basic image manipulation,
and composite RCA video/audio outs (with special included cable). With
an added CompactFlash WiFi card, you can use the Giga Vu Pro as a node
on a wireless network, allowing you to share and transfer files. Soon,
there will be firmware available that will allow the user to setup
the Giga Vu Pro as an FTP on a wireless network, so that cameras with
wireless capabilities can utilize the Giga Vu Pro as a wireless hard
drive. In addition, this device can print directly to a printer equipped
with Pictbridge. There’s even a feature to detect dust particles on
an image (and therefore on the lens of the camera) to ensure a "clean" shot.
Finally, you can select whether you want to use the Pal or NTSC file
system, depending on which country you reside. In essence, this product
is predominantly aimed at the digital photographer.
